Mare Cardinal and Reindeer Christmas Fairy Angel Tree Topper comes in 5”, 6”, 8” and 10” tall.
Each one is individually handmade by me from wool using needle-felting techniques. She has bright auburn hair, soft pale wings, a red-and-white winter hat and a fluffy white scarf. Her gray-blue winter gown is decorated with tiny snowy details and a dimensional hand-felted reindeer surrounded by winter greenery and bright red berries.
In her arm she carries a little hand-felted red bird.
When I created her, I imagined a Christmas fairy wandering through a quiet snowy woodland with a cardinal as her little companion. I wanted her gown to tell another part of the story, so I added the reindeer among winter greenery and berries, almost like a tiny Christmas woodland scene brought to life in wool.
I especially love the contrast between her soft gray-blue winter colors and the warm Christmas reds. The cardinal and reindeer are both individually created details, which makes this one considerably more involved to make than my simpler Christmas fairies.
