I love working with natural materials because they keep my work connected to nature and to the beautiful world that inspires each of my dolls. Every Juniperia is handmade one at a time, so each one is a little different and uniquely yours.
I create my dolls as little companions, and Juniperia in particular takes me back to my grandmother’s woodland Christmas decorations. She made a different theme every year, and the woodland one has a special place in my heart — drinking hot cocoa and waiting for the magical night when the whole family would be together. After the party was over, I would spot her simply sitting and enjoying the peace of her décor, her eyes shining. In those moments I could see the little girl inside of her still daydreaming in her own magical place.
