Marielle Christmas Fairy Tree Topper comes in 5”, 6”, 8” and 10” tall. Each fairy is individually handmade by me from wool and natural fibers using needle-felting techniques. She wears a soft white gown wrapped with rich evergreen-green wool, with delicate red holly-inspired details. She has pale curly hair decorated with red and green accents and soft green fairy wings.
She is created as a Christmas tree topper, with a hollow base that allows her to sit over the top branch of the tree. The smaller sizes are lovely for tabletop and smaller trees, while the 8” and 10” fairies have more presence on a full-size Christmas tree.
When I created her, I wanted her to feel like a little Christmas fairy who had just stepped out of an evergreen woodland. I kept her colors traditional—winter white, evergreen and little touches of red—but gave her the soft, whimsical character I love in my felted fairies.
I especially love her curly hair and the tiny red and green details around her crown. Against the simple white gown, the green wool gives her a beautiful flowing shape and makes her feel very much at home among the branches of a Holiday tree.
Every fairy is individually made by my hands, so her curls, wings, holly details and the placement of the wool will vary slightly. These small differences are part of the handmade process and give every fairy her own personality.
