Oli Christmas Fairy Tree Topper comes in 5”, 6”, 8” and 10” tall. Each fairy is individually handmade by me from wool and natural fibers using needle-felting techniques. She has beautiful curly auburn hair decorated with tiny red and green felted flowers, soft green fairy wings, an evergreen-green bodice and a flowing white wool gown layered with wispy green fibers. A small cluster of red berries or flowers finishes her dress.
She is designed as a Christmas tree topper, with a hollow base that allows her to sit over the top branch of the tree. The 5” and 6” sizes work beautifully on smaller or tabletop trees, while the 8” and 10” sizes create a stronger presence on a larger Christmas tree.
When I created her, I wanted a Christmas fairy that felt traditional without being overly formal. I imagined a little woodland fairy gathering evergreen leaves and bright red winter berries before coming inside to celebrate Christmas.
Her colors came from the Christmas tree itself—the deep green branches, warm red decorations and touches of snowy white. I especially love her mass of auburn curls and the tiny red and green flowers tucked into her hair. They give her a cheerful personality while still keeping the soft woodland feeling of my handmade fairies.
Every fairy is individually made by my hands, so her curls, wings, flowers and the placement of the flowing wool fibers will vary slightly. These natural variations are part of what makes each Wonderfelt fairy unique.
